Whirlwinds, Tornadoes, Basement is a multidisciplinary performance work integrating voice, movement, sonic sculptures, video, and text. The piece examines historical and contemporary systems of communication and control, including signal transmission, echo chambers, censorship, surveillance and collective mobilization. Drawing on imagery such as satellite dishes, pre-radar World War I listening devices, amplified speakers, and using both sung text and American Sign Language, the work explores how information is sent and received, distorted and re-voiced.
